Dressed in pure white, a bride is slowly led down the aisle by her father. The warm blessings of the guests fill the chapel... Nowadays, it is common for hotels to have chapels, but it was Keio Plaza Hotel that started this trend.
In September 1975, we opened “Plaza Chapel” as the first permanent chapel in a Japanese urban hotel. At the time, church-style weddings were only held in churches or cathedrals, so this was a groundbreaking event. The idea of having a chapel inside the hotel was born from a customer-centric perspective, as it would make it more convenient and smoother for elderly guests to attend the wedding, even on days with bad weather. The elegant and classical atmosphere of the chapel has been loved by many and has helped create countless precious memories.
The warm wooden interior, the beautiful sounds of the organ and cello, and the soft lighting all contribute to the grandeur of the chapel. Even today, our classic chapel continues to captivate many guests and stands as a testament to the history of hotel weddings.
