Keio Plaza Hotel’s “New Year’s Holiday Plan” allows you to spend the New Year’s holiday feeling as if the entire hotel has transformed into a luxury cruise ship. It is a popular accommodation plan, with around 600 groups of guests staying with us each year. We started selling this plan in 1971, the year the hotel opened, and have been adding new and unique touches to it with each passing era. For example, the establishment of the “New Year’s Special Hospitality Team” in 1995 marked the beginning of our focus on universal accessibility, ensuring that all guests can enjoy their stay at Keio Plaza Hotel with peace of mind.
From the New Year’s Eve countdown concert featuring celebrity performers, to the first laughter of the year at a traditional Japanese comic storytelling event (rakugo), and various other events held daily until January 2nd, guests can enjoy these events with a free pass. The gourmet buffet, featuring Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisine, was supervised by our executive chef, and our in-house restaurants offer special menus during this time. Many guests also enjoy watching the first sunrise of the year from the upper floors of the hotel. These are just some of the reasons why our New Year’s Holiday Plan is so popular. Many guests return year after year, and it is not uncommon for three generations of a family to stay with us.
