On June 5, 2021, Keio Plaza Hotel celebrated its 50th anniversary.
Looking back at the numbers over the past 50 years, it's clear just how many customers have supported us.
Since opening in June 1971 as Japan's first skyscraper hotel, we have welcomed approximately 160 million guests from over 100 countries worldwide. Approximately 32 million guests have stayed overnight, 98 million have used our restaurants and bars, and approximately 37,000 weddings have been held at our hotel.
We have welcomed legendary figures and world VIPs, including heads of state. We have also generated considerable buzz with our unique plans and events, some of which were the first of their kind in the industry or among hotels in Tokyo. For 50 years, we have consistently delivered new forms of hospitality, adapting to the times, tailoring ourselves to our customers, and attending to the individual needs of each guest, whether it be for accommodations, weddings, or restaurant events. Every single one of the large figures we have accumulated is accompanied by the smiles of our customers.
Our passionate vision from when we opened – to create a "plaza" that fosters encounters and gatherings among people – will continue. With gratitude for everything so far, we are now taking another step forward.
