The success of large-scale incentive tours and international conferences that the hotel received in its early days in the 1970s also contributed to its growth. We acquired the know-how to handle large groups, such as a system for smoothly checking in many guests who had just finished long journeys and coordination to quickly deliver large numbers of suitcases to their rooms. How we responded to the diverse requests of our guests, and the accumulation of each and every order we received, became the know-how that Keio Plaza Hotel has established.
Subsequently, the history of MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) has become intertwined with the history of the hotel. In 1980, South Tower was completed, further enhancing its functions as a convention hotel and becoming a major strength in hosting medical conferences and international meetings. Also, taking advantage of the hosting of the "World Congress on Rehabilitation" in 1988, the hotel pioneered the promotion of barrier-free facilities. In 2001, it was quick to introduce fiber optic cables throughout the entire building, creating a high-speed, high-capacity, and high-quality network, and became a venue for various international conferences on advanced technologies, such as the "UN IT Conference." Furthermore, in 2015, Banquet Room on the 47th floor of Main Tower was renovated, and the communication system using LAN lines and the installation of a dedicated MICE information counter have enabled smoother conference management.
Keio Keio Plaza Hotel Hotel has always been at the forefront of meeting the needs of the times, providing universal services and enhanced IT infrastructure to keep pace with MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions). Moving forward, we will continue to strive to be the "No. 1 MICE hotel" that fulfills the satisfaction of our guests, along with the meticulous hospitality we have cultivated over the years.
