“Ichiro’s Malt” from Chichibu Distillery has won the World’s Best Award at the World Whisky Awards, one of the most prestigious whisky competitions, a total of eight times.
To commemorate the 55th anniversary of Keio Plaza Hotel, we will be selling 100 limited edition bottles of “Ichiro’s Malt Keio Plaza Hotel 55th Anniversary Bottle” made from malt whisky from Chichibu Distillery.
For those who attend the one-day whisky seminar, we have prepared a special opportunity to taste this commemorative bottle.
Taste the world of Ichiro’s Malt with a special pairing by our Japanese Cuisine Executive Chef, Daisuke Yagisawa.

Our 55th Anniversary Commemorative Bottle was created with the involvement of three of our hotel’s bartenders from the planning stage, as they pursued the ideal flavor.
They tasted various base liquors at the Chichibu Distillery and blended them, primarily using bourbon barrels, along with sherry casks, white wine casks, and a 16-year-old Mizunara oak cask. The result is a commemorative bottle with a splendid aroma and a deep, lingering finish.
For the label design, we chose a piece by ceramic artist Yusuke Aida, titled “Ceramic Garden,” which adorns our <Cocktail &Tea Lounge>. The ceramic wall and art piece depict mountains floating under a moonlit night, showcasing a variety of expressions depending on the time of day and lighting. By reflecting this design onto the bottle, we have condensed the culture and aesthetic sensibilities that our hotel has nurtured over the past 55 years. We hope you enjoy this special drink while reminiscing about our history.

Instructor Profile
Ichiro's Malt Global Brand Ambassador
Yumi Yoshikawa
Born in Tochigi Prefecture in 1981.
After gaining experience as a bartender and undergoing rigorous training in New York in 2008, he traveled to Scotland in 2011. While working as a bartender at "Highlander Inn," a whisky bar in Speyside, a region known for Scotch whisky production, he also participated in whisky making at the Brickladdy Distillery on Islay. After returning to Japan, he currently works as a global brand ambassador at Venture Whisky. In 2019, he received the World Whisky Brand Ambassador of the Year award at the Icons of Whisky awards hosted by Whisky Magazine.
